"Dil Bechara" is not just a film. It is that unseen side of life that goes ignored in the rat race of 21st century. It is the story of people whose lives are shattered; who are trying to survive by somehow joining those broken pieces of life together. They have dreams - big and small and try to fulfill them, obviously not in a sophisticated manner but even in a simple haphazard manner to the best of their ability. And they try to remain happy. No need to mention the captivating innocence and the par excellence acting of Sushant Singh Rajput.
No villains, no vamps, no fights, no conspiracies, no selfishness, no greed, no rebellion - how much do I write. You see and feel only love, selfless love, help, care, empathy, compassion, cooperation, understanding......all that goes to form a big word 'HUMANITY'.
How Manny, himself being a cancer patient with an artificial leg, helps his visually impaired friend fulfill his dream of casting a film. How he befriends Kizie, teaches her to love life, fulfills her dream of meeting her favorite musician even as his cancer bounces back, completes the song for her......and so much more! A small example but a big message: When Manny's friend J.P. has a break-up, what do they do - plan conspiracy, take revenge - NO! Manny doesn't even pelt stones lest the house or inmates get damaged. They pelt eggs which are the least damaging of all objects, and that too after asking the girl's mother to go inside last she should get hurt. This is the height of humanity, kindness and innocence hidden even in anger. Their childlike innocent pranks, innocent conversations and innocent smiles bear the tremendous potential to move a viewer's heart.
'Dil Bechara' is an embodiment of and a message of Humanity.
My cognitive power fails to understand why Sushant's reel tragic end became his real tragic end. In the story, the film in which he acted releases after his death. So much so with 'Dil Bechara' which got released after Sushant's actual death. Why did fate create this similarity?
I cried watching the movie. I have watched it twice. But I don't know why I feel like watching it again and again. It's not a comedy, it has a tragic end.....then why? Is it because the movie is a 'Chipku' - gets glued to your heart? I think it's because the movie is so rich in emotional and humanitarian treasures that cannot be captured in one go.
They keep unfolding more and more as you watch the movie again and again. The more you see, the more you feel, the more you connect, the more you cry - that is when you really encounter all the treasures and enter the world of complete Humanity in its full blossom and fragrance i.e."Dil Bechara"- a message of humanity.
I bow my head to the entire cast of the film for I have no words which can hold my experience. If someone asks me to describe the film in one word, I would simply say: "BEAÙUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTIFUL". My heartfelt tributes to Sushant Singh Rajput through 'Dil Bechara' - a message of humanity.
