Ensure timely resolution of public issues: Balbir Singh Sidhu

District Grievance Redressal Committee meeting, emphasis on raising constructive issues

Instruct the authorities to carry out development work on a priority basis and in earnest

 Barnala: Resolving public issues is the priority of the government. To this end, while the various departments should work seriously, the members should also raise constructive issues so that the major development works can be carried out on a priority basis. This was stated by the Health and Family Welfare Minister Punjab and Chairman District Grievance Redressal Committee while presiding over the meeting of the District Grievance Redressal Committee held at District Administrative Complex here. On this occasion, he listened to the public issues raised by the members of the District Grievance Redressal Committee and directed the officers to settle the outstanding issues promptly. 

On the occasion, senior leader Kewal Singh Dhillon said that no hindrance would be allowed in the overall development of the Barnala district. The next process has been started for the sanctioned super specialty hospital for Barnala. Deputy Commissioner Tej Partap Singh Phoolka and SSP Sandeep Goel were also present on the occasion. Nine old and 13 new complaints were considered on the occasion. Present on the occasion were MLA Kulwant Singh Pandori, Chairman Makhan Sharma, Jatinder Jimmy, Ujagar Singh Behla, Gurdeep Das Bawa, Baldev Singh Bhuchar, Jasmeel Singh, Navtej Singh, Chand Singh Chopra, Capt. Sadhu Singh, Raju Pastor, Narinder Sharma, Gurmeet Singh. Darshan Singh, Gurkimat Singh Sidhu, Suresh Dimple, Navtej Cheema, Khushi Mohammad, Jagjit Singh Panesar, Vijay Kumar Bhadaur, Gurwinder Singh Nambardar, Malkit Kaur Sahota, Sukhwinder Singh Dhaliwal, Mahindlarpal Singh, Jasvir Singh raised various issues. On the occasion of flyover on Khudhi Road, road accident from Dhanola to Bhattal, death of a baby girl at Jan Aushdhi Kendra Panghura, RTA office, widening of link roads, installation of Mehal Kalan in Main Market and other works including laying of tiles on the sides of Barnala-Handiaya Main Road were also discussed. Officials said work on the truck lane near Green Colony in Barnala has been completed. 

Narain Nagar street has been paved and road work in front of the PRTC office has been done. Balbir Singh Sidhu asked the Deputy Commissioner to conduct an inquiry into the death of a newborn baby in a cradle. On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Phoolka assured that the pending cases would be settled on a priority basis. Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included MLA Nirmal Singh Khalsa, Chairperson Zilla Parishad Sarabjit Kaur, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Amit Bambi, Assistant Commissioner (Complaints) Devdarsh Singh, Assistant Commissioner (ADC) Ashok Kumar, Civil Surgeon Jasbir Singh Aulakh and others Officers were present. 

Health Minister inaugurates Rising Pipeline at Sewerage Treatment Plant

On the occasion, Health Minister Balbir Singh Sindhu inaugurated the Rs. 1,62 crore Rising Pipeline (2100 m) project on Lasada Drain at Tapa and Sewage Treatment Plant (5 MLD) costing Rs. 8.20 crore. He said that these projects would eliminate the problem of rainwater in the city of Tapa as well as ensure efficient use of treated water.
