Directorate of Youth Welfare, MRSPTU Bathinda organized an Inter-College Online Debate Competition

Bathinda: To mark the International Youth Day and SadbhavnaDiwas, the Directorate of Youth Welfare, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda organized an Inter-College Online Debate Competition for the students of its Main Campus, all Constituent/Affiliated Colleges.

           

In this online competition, eight (8) teams of various Constituent/Affiliated colleges of Bathinda, Barnala and Patiala districts, participated on two different topics given by the Youth Welfare Deptt.i.e., “Online Learning: A Boon for Education…?” & “During Covid pandemic: Humanity Vanished...?” In this event, each team comprising of two student participants selected one topic from above given two topics.One participant of a teamspoke FOR the Motion and other AGAINST the Motion.

           

The Judges for this competition were Ms. Ritu Bala, RJ at AIR FM Bathinda and Dr. Amandeep Singh, Assistant Professor of Punjabi Department, Central University of Punjab, Ghudda, Bathinda. Biswajit Mondal &Soumye of GZS School of Architecture & Planning, Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engg. & Tech. MRSPTU, Bathinda team won the 1st Position,Simarjot Kaur &Parneet Kaur of Deptt. of Pharmacy,Govt. Polytechnic College for Girls, Patiala team got 2nd Position and Hiya Battu & Anurag Singh of Punjab State Aeronautical Engineering College, Patiala team won 3rd Position. Biswajit Mondal of GZS SAP, GZSCCET MRSPTU, Bathinda is also declared as the Best Debater.

           

Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu, Registrar MRSPTU, Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh congratulated the winners & said that this is a great opportunity for the students to showcase their talent in this literary event and to speak about the real time situations i.e., COVID Pandemic, role of society in it and the online learning in these kinds of circumstances. He further appreciated the efforts of Director, Sports & Youth Welfare & the Youth Welfare team for organizing such an important event. Dr. Bhupinder Pal Singh Dhot thanked the Vice Chancellor for his graceful words and showed gratitude to the Judges for the beautiful judgement and the participating teams to be the part of this online Debate competition. He also appreciated Er Sukhdeep Singh & Er Navdeep Kaur, Cultural Council Members & coordinators of this Inter-College Online Debate competition for organizing the event with great enthusiasm.
