321 youths get on spot placements during two job fairs in Jalandhar

14 companies participate in Job fair, 357 youths take part

 

 Jalandhar: Under the Ghar Ghar Rozgar and Karobar mission, two job fairs were organized by the district administration Jalandhar at BDPO office Jalandhar East and Nurmahal. As many as 321 unemployed youth today got job placements during these camps.

Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that 357 unemployed youth took part in both the camps of which 321 were selected by the companies.

He added that a total of 14 companies including Pukhraj Heath Care, Re Bliss, Placemeds, Star Health Insurance, SIS Securities, LIC Nakodar, ICICI Bank, NIIT Ltd participated in the job fairs during which 321 unemployed youth got on spot placement placements.

The deputy commissioner mentioned that such Job Fairs have been scheduled for the whole month of September during which avenues of employment would be offered to participants.

The Deputy Commissioner said that these Job fairs were acting as a catalyst to transform the destiny of the youth.

He said that the youth who have got jobs during the fair would become an active partner in the socio-economic growth of the state.

In placement camp at BDPO east's office , as many as 136 youths selected for thr jobs while 185 got job offers at Nurmahal, he added.

He said all Covid protocols including social distancing and masking were strictly followed during the job fair. The Deputy Commissioner further said that the selection of the youth for jobs would be made purely on merit through a fair and transparent system.

Thori said that besides regular placement camps, a mega job fair was going to be organized soon. He added that on September 9, Job fair would be held at Guru Nanak College Nakodar, on September 10 at District Bureau of Employment and Enterprise, Jalandhar, on September 13 at CT Group of Institute Shahpur, on September 15 at Janta College Kartarpur, and on September 17 at BDPO office Bhogpur.

The DC called upon the youth to register themselves on www.pgrkam.com for more jobs. The Youths can also contact on 90569-20100 for further information, he added.
