Seven including women arrested/ booked for selling/brewing illicit liquor

SHAHKOT/NAKODAR/NURMAHAL The Shahkot police have booked three villagers   on the charge of selling and brewing illicit liquor.

The Station House Officer S.K. Kamboj said that 675 bottles of illicit liquor  ,200 liters of lahann (raw liquor  and utensils for brewing and storing  and four gas cylinders’  were recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Surjit Singh a resident of Thamuwal village,Mangat Ram and Vijay resident of Bhoe Pur village .

SHO said cases under sections 61/1/14 of the Excise Act have been registered against the accused who managed to flee and impounded one motorcycle.

The Lohian Khas police arrested Gurmit Singh of Ismail Pur  village with 100 liters of lahann  said IO Sarabjit  Singh.

The Bilga police arrested Jogindar Kaur and Shimla Ranni residents of Sangowal village with 22 bottles of illicit liquor and released them on bail said SHO H.S. Maan

The Mehat Pur police arrested Chanann of Umarewal   village with 20 bottles of hooch said IO Sahil Chaudhary .
