Captain Amarinder Singh harvested what he sown in four and half years

FARIDKOT: There was the captain, who was most sought after leader after his last term from 2002 to 07, but in stark contrast, there is the captain who has been removed from chief ministership in a humiliated way because the congress high command had clearly learnt that Captain had lost all his popularity and credibility among the masses now and was not in a position to damage the party.

The alleged friendly match with the Badal family, failure to arrest big fish in drug smuggling cases, no employment to the youth, inaccessibility to public and his party leaders and dictatorial attitude has led to his removal.

Captain Amarinder Singh government only created hype in drug cases by registering FIRs against petty criminals, sparing the big fish to eyewash the people.

Though late, the high command has removed captain Singh from the post of the CM with an aim to the next assembly elections to project Navjot Singh as the next probable CM.

The congress party high command had learnt that Singh was not the person to steer clear the party in the next elections.

Besides other reasons, Captain Singh’s proximity to the BJP national leadership may have also distrubed high command because it might be seen as a pressure tactic on high command.

Singh might be signalling to the party that if his supremacy in the party is shaken, he would switch sides to the BJP.
