Two villagers arrested for snatching cash, mobile

SHAHKOT The Shahkot police have arrested two villagers on the charge of snatching cash and mobiles from Shahkot residents.

The investigating officer (IO) Lakhvir Singh  said that the accused have been identified as Balwindar Singh alias Kala Walaitiya son of Davindar Singh alias Nikka son of Jagga residents of Kania Khurd village   village .

Rahul a resident of new Kartar Nagar, Shahkot complained to the police that he and his cousin Aman were returning home after work at Kania Kalan village on September 20 night when the accused waylaid them and snatched Rs 1200 and a mobile hand set from him and Rs 800 and a mobile hand set from Aman at point of piston like weapon and a sharp edged weapon .

IO said that a case under section 379-B (snatching) 341(wrongful restraint) 506(criminal intimidation and 34(committing crime with common intention)  of the IPC and section 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act  has been registered against the accused.
