Inquiry ordered into fixing of wrong house number plates

NURMAHAL Jalandhar deputy commissioner Ghanshyam Thory has ordered an inquiry into allegations of fixing wrongly printed logo house numbering plates in villages of Nurmahal block.

The inquiry has been handed over to Phillaur sub divisional  magistrate Arwindar Singh Malhi.

Dilbag Singh a resident of Baina Pur village and social activist in a complaint to deputy commission said numbering plates have  been printed with wrongly worded slogans.

Inquiries revealed that Santosh Tiwari a resident of Varanasi in UP submitted an application to Jalandhar additional deputy commissioner(ADC) to cooperate in fixing Logo House numbering plate works.

ADC forwarded this application to all block officers and Nurmahal BDPO wrote to all sarpanches to cooperate with Tiwari .No tenders were invited for number plates and no norms were laid down either.
