1 kg Opium seized by Faridkot police,one arrested

FARIDKOT: The Faridkot police have claimed to have seized 1 Kg of opium from Bhart Bhushan son of Fakir Chand, a resident of village Hari Ke Kalan of Muktsar.
A police party led by ASI Sukhdarshan Singh of CIA staff Faridkot arrested the accused and found 1 kg of intoxicant from his possession.
"A police patrol team led by ASI Sukhdarshan Singh was patrolling near Kotkapura. The patrol party was driving towards Kotkapura on a link road from village Wander Jatana. When it was only half a kilometre away from the Kotkapura-Muktsar state highway, it saw a youth walking on foot towards the village with a black polythene in his hand. When the police party asked him his name and address, he identified himself as Bhart Bhushan and during search, the police found 1 kg Opium from his possession," reads the police statement for the registration of the case.
A case against him has been registered at police station Sadar Kotkaura under section 18 (B),61,85 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic substances act(NDPS).
