DIRECTS TO INCREASE VIGIL AMID PREVAILING SCENARIO

ALSO REVIEWS SECURITY SCENARIO, DRIVE AGAINST DRUGS & GANGSTERS

Phagwara (KAPURTHALA), November 24 : In a significant move to further streamline the policing in the state, Director General of Police IPS Sahota has appointed senior officers as supervisors to all districts.

ADGP Arpit Shukla has been appointed for Kapurthala and Hoshiarpur districts, who will supervise the key issues including drive against drugs, terrorist activities & gangsters regularly.

Accompanied by IG Jalandhar range Gurinder S Dhillon, ADGP Arpit Shukla today held his maiden meeting with SSP Kapurthala Harkanwalpreet Singh Khakh and SSP Hoshiarpur Kulwant Singh Heer at Phagwara wherein he reviewed security scenario and directed the police officials of the region to make full-proof security arrangements in their respective areas in the wake of the recent developments.

He asked the officials to take all preventive and precautionary measures in the maintaining the law and order in their areas besides intensifying their fight against drugs, terrorists activities & gangsters.

The ADGP further stressed upon the need of night domination drives by police chiefs, sealing of entry points of the cities, intensive checking and nakas and asked the heads to supervise the situation round the clock beside to hold daily meetings for effective measures.

Further, Shukla asked the SSPs to keep a close vigil on the inflow of drugs in the jails and take action against black sheeps. Besides, special honour must be given to the police officials for cracking down on the gangsters, drug peddlers and other anti-social elements.

He also told them to depute dedicated teams of Gazetted rank officers to nab all proclaimed offenders especially in drug cases in the their districts.

He said that special security arrangements should be made in prominent places, such as crowded markets, etc.

He categorically told that Punjab Police is capable of handling any kind of situation.
In the meeting, he also enquired about the efforts taken by them in their respective jurisdiction in the recent days.
