One member of in-law’s family arrested for dowry harassment

NURMAHAL The Bilga police have arrested a member of in-law’s family for dowry harassment

The investigating officer (IO)Surjit Singh     said that the accused has  been identified as Pardeep Kumar  son of Avtar Singh a resident of Basti Danishmanda Jalandhar.

 Kulwindar Kaur daughter of Kirpal Singh a resident of Rupewal village had complained to the police that her marriage was solemnized with Pardeep Kumar in 2019   and ever since her marriage she was being harassed for dowry.

IO said that a case under section 406 (breach of trust) and 498-A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) of the Indian Penal Code was  registered against the accused after an inquiry  and his father Avtar Singh and brother Mandeep Singh
