India records over 2.64 lakh new Covid-19 cases, 315 deaths in last 24 hrs

NEW DELHI: India reported 2,64,202 new Covid-19 cases and 315 deaths in the last 24 hours, while the total death toll of the country stands at 4,85,350, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.

As per the active Covid-19 cases in India, rose to 12,72,073 while the daily positivity rate has risen to 14.48 per cent. The confirmed cases of the Omicron variant presently stand at 5,753.

Delhi reported 28,867 new COVID-19 cases, Karnataka reported 46,406 new COVID-19 COVID cases, Tamil Nadu reported 20,911 cases, and West Bengal reported 23,467 new cases and the rest of the cases were added by other states.

As per the ministry, over 15.17 crore balance COVID vaccine doses are available with the states and UTs.

A total of 69.90 crore samples have so far been tested for the viral, of which 17,87,457 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
