15 complaints received on Vigil, disposed of within 100 minutes: Additional District Electoral Officer

The complaint cell number 01679-244364 also operates 24 hours a day

 Barnala: Varjit Walia, Additional District Electoral Officer, Barnala said that the district administration is committed to conducting the assembly elections in a fair, smooth, peaceful, and free manner for which the civil and police administrations are working together.

Varjit Walia said that while helpline number 1950 is working continuously for the assistance of voters proposed by the Election Commission, the complaint of a violation of the election code of conduct can be lodged through the Vigil app which can be lodged, within the next 100 minutes Action must be taken. He said that this is a very effective app of the Election Commission of India through which 15 complaints have been received so far regarding the implementation of the election code of conduct in the Barnala district. 

On the occasion, Assistant Nodal Officer C Vigil Sanjay Singla said that out of 15 complaints received so far all the complaints have been settled within 100 minutes. He said that these complaints were related to political banners and political rallies at various places after the imposition of the election code of conduct.

Assistant Nodal Officer Complaints Cell Kulwinder Singh said that the toll-free number 1950 was also being closely monitored. Apart from this, a grievance cell has also been set up which is operational 24 hours a day and its number is 01679-244364.
