Chandigarh: The Bharatiya Janata Party-Punjab Lok Congress-Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) alliance will release its first list of candidates for Punjab assembly polls on Friday.
As per the list, Qadian MLA Fateh Jung Bajwa, who left Congress and joined Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), last month, will not contest from MLA Qadian. Recently BJP has fielded sitting MLA Fateh Jung Bajwa.
Now Fateh Jung's fight is not with his brother Pratap Bajwa, but he will contest from any other seat on a BJP ticket. BJP will release the first list of candidates today, in which the names of 30 to 35 candidates will be announced.
It is worth noting that last month, Fateh Jung Bajwa, a Congress MLA from Qadian, had joined the BJP in Delhi in the presence of senior BJP leader and Punjab election in-charge and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
