Amritsar: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami strongly condemned the statement of Congress leader Mohammad Mustafa in which he called Sri Guru Granth Sahib as ‘kitab’ (book) and asked him to apologise to the Sikh community.

Advocate Dhami said that Sri Guru Granth Sahib is the spiritual Guru (master) of all mankind.

He said Sri Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru before his passing away had enshrined the Guruship to Sri Guru Granth Sahib and asked the Sikh community to follow the Holy Scripture as Guru.

He said the Sikh community has immense devotion in Sri Guru Granth Sahib and the Sikhs live their lives after taking guidance from the Gurbani written in the word Guru.

“Calling the living Guru, a book was an expression of the small mentality of Mohammad Mustafa. His statement has hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community”, said Advocate Dhami.

SGPC President said that Mohammad Mustafa should openly apologise and if does not do so, legal action would be initiated against him.
