Health department teams launch awareness campaigns on the harmful effects of tobacco
Voters are also made aware of their right to vote
Barnala: As per the direction of Deputy Commissioner Barnala Mr. Kumar Saurabh Raj, district and block level teams have been carrying out activities in District Barnala to create awareness among the people about the ill effects of Tobacco and to cut off the challans of violators of the Tobacco Control Act.
Disclosing this here today Dr. Jasbir Singh Aulakh, Civil Surgeon, Barnala said that District Mass Media and Information Officer Kuldeep Singh Mann, District BCC Coordinator Harjeet Singh and Health Inspectors Gurmel Singh Dhillon, Bhupinder Singh, and Health worker Jagjit Singh from Sabzi Mandi, 22Acres, Bus Stand Road, Tarksheel Chowk, Dana Mandi, and ITI Chowk, Bathinda Road.
In the Barnala district, 353 challans have been issued in January. The shopkeepers are briefed about the Tobacco Control Act and Food Safety and Standards Act 2006. At the same time, under the sweep activities, voters are being encouraged to exercise their voting right without any fear, intimidation, or greed.
