Honda India Foundation strengthens its skill development commitment in Haryana

Constructs a new building for Skill Enhancement Centre at Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Uchana Khurd

With Haryana’s fourth centre at Uchana, Honda Skill Enhancement Centres now at 49 across 19 states

Equipped with state-of-the-art training facilities, centre to provide practical training on two-wheelers maintenance & repair

 Uchana: Committed to Skill India Mission, Honda India Foundation (the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of all Honda group companies in India) in association with Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Uchana Khurd today inaugurated the newly constructed building of Skill Enhancement Centre in Uchana. Spread across 1200 square feet, the new center operational from today will empower local youth with job-oriented technical skill training in the city.

 

The center was inaugurated by Dushyant Chautala - Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Haryana in the august presence of Amarjeet Dhanda (Member of Legislative Assembly, Julana), Ramniwas Surjakheda (Member of Legislative Assembly, Narwana),  Manoj Kumar (IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Jind), Rajesh Khoth (Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Jind), Ravinder Chahal (Principal, ITI Uchana Khurd),  Saibal Maitra (Vice President – Corporate Social Responsibility, HMSI), Sharad Pradhan (General Manager,  Corporate Social Responsibility, HMSI), Rajnish Charandas Mittal (Deputy General Manager, Customer Service  Technology & Customer Relations, HMSI) and other dignitaries from Haryana Government and HMSI.

 

Speaking on the inauguration, Dushyant Chautala - Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Haryana said, “I thank all the representatives of Uchana and the young trainers associated with the Skill Enhancement Centre for this development. I extend my gratitude to the management of Honda for skilling and providing their latest two-wheelers for practical training on maintenance & repair. I am also happy to share that the first 20 vacancies for the center in Uchana got filled on the first day itself and more students wants to join this program. I am confident that such training will enhance the techniques of our local youth and make them more efficient with all the latest technologies including the recent BSVI engines.”

 

On this occasion, Atsushi Ogata – Chairman, Honda India Foundation and CEO, President & MD, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “Fulfilling its corporate social responsibility, Honda India Foundation proactively supports Skill India Mission to empower Indian youth. The constant changes in rapidly evolving automobile industry have raised the demand of skilled technical manpower. Keeping this as a priority, Honda India Foundation has inaugurated its fourth Skill Enhancement Center of Haryana. The new developed centre in Uchana is a testimony to our commitment to upskill local youth and enhance their employability.”

 

Honda India Foundation’s Skill Enhancement Centre at Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Uchana Khurd has a fully functional workshop with two-wheelers, service infrastructure and latest tools & technology that gives hands on training to students on technical aspects of two-wheelers maintenance and repair and empowers them with recruitment opportunities at two-wheeler dealerships across India.
