Moscow: Russia has accused Azerbaijan of interfering in an area controlled by Russian peacekeepers in Nagarno-Karabakh.
After the war between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the year 2020, Russia itself had made a peace-agreement and deployed its peacekeeping forces.
This is the first time that Russia has alleged violation of the agreement. Russia's Defense Ministry has also accused Azerbaijan of attacking forces in Georgi Karabakh with Turkish-made drones.
Russia has also expressed concern about the increasing tension in the region. At the same time, the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan says that they regret the one-sided statement issued by Russia because the full truth has not been told in it.
Azerbaijan has claimed that it has not violated any of the ceasefire conditions. Defense ministers of Russia and Azerbaijan have discussed the situation in the region, and Azerbaijan says it has provided information on the ground situation of its military forces, according to the AFP news agency.
Azerbaijan has also accused Armenia of failing to remove troops from Karabakh and of taking provocations.
Azerbaijan has said that it demands from Russia that the rest of the Armenian forces present in the internationally recognized territory of Azerbaijan should also be removed from there. There has been a conflict between the armies of Armenia and Azerbaijan in this area.
But Saturday's development is the first time that Russia has accused any side of violating the ceasefire in 2020. Russia also said that it has asked Azerbaijan to withdraw its troops from the region.
