Good Friday, also known as a holy Friday or black Friday, marks the day when Jesus christ was crucified on the cross. The day mark very important day for the Christian community around the world. It is observed during the holy week on the Friday preceding easter Sunday.
Good Friday is observed as a public holiday in various countries such as India, Canada, the UK, Germany, Australia, Bermuda, Brazil, Finland, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore and Sweden among others.
The term good Friday is absent in the Holy Bible, however the religious text tells us the story of how Jesus was double-crossed by Judas which prompted his capture. He was beaten by the roman warriors in the wake of being nailed to a cross which hw was approached to carry to his site of the crucifixion. The term ‘good” is a inconsistency to the occasion of this day, however, people believe that the term is related with the words ‘devout or sacred’ and good Friday is trailed by eastern Sunday, the day on which Jesus was resurrected from death.
