PHILLAUR: Accompanied by Jalandhar Member of Parliament Santokh Singh Chaudhary, recently elected Member of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary led a procession through Phillaur city on Friday and expressed gratitude to the voters for reposing their faith in him during the polls.
Amidst the chants of 'Santokh Singh Chaudhary Zindabad' and 'Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary Zindabad', he visited the markets, shops and houses to meet the people and thanked them for their support. Both the Congress leaders were warmly welcomed with garlands and dhols everywhere.
In celebration of the victory in the Phillaur constituency, MLA Vikramjit Chaudhary was also weighed with laddoos.
The procession included hundreds of his supporters, including several municipal councillors, block samiti members, sarpanches and panches.
MLA Vikramjit Chaudhary stated that the people of Phillaur had given a historic verdict during the assembly elections and elected him by the highest margin of votes in the Phillaur constituency since India’s Independence.
“I am very grateful to the people of Phillaur for electing me as their representative in Punjab Vidhan Sabha. I will always be indebted to them for their love, blessings and support. I am committed to serving them to the best of my ability,” he said.
He added that he would work harder for the city’s development and do his best to fulfil the people’s aspirations.
