MAQSUDAN: Jalandhar (Rural) police arrested one alleged drug smugglers, with 1 kg 170 gms of cannabis from his possession suring a special checking near Maqsudan on Saturday.

In a press statement, Senior Superintendent of police, Jalandhar (Rural) Swapan Sharma informed that on Friday S.I. Narinder Ral Police Station Maqsudan, along with his police  were present in Adda Nurpur one man see police and run  slipping on the side of the road. He was apprehended with the help of his police party and asked for his name and address. Upon checking the waxy envelope, 1 kg 170 gms of cannabis was recovered.

The arrested amuggler has been identified as Sehdev Rai, a resident of Maqsudan Jalandhar.

Also, an FIR was registered under sections 20/61/85 of Narcotic Drugs at police station Maqsudan and arrested.
