 Kapurthala: Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Anupam Kler today said that the maiden “Baisakhi Mela” is being organized by the Punjab Government at Kanjli Wetland on April 23 would help in redeveloping the wetland as a tourist destination for which the adequate arrangements are being made by the district administration.

The fair will be held from 11 AM to 9 PM with no entry fee for the general public.

During a meeting with the administrative officials at the District Administrative Complex here today, she said that during the 'Baisakhi Mela' where the world-class wetland of Kapurthala would not only be revived as a tourist destination but also for the entertainment of the people renowned artist, fancy dress competition, lucky coupon draw Will also be made.

It is pertinent to mention here that the colorful program will include fancy dress, Giddha, Bhangra, folk song, women's fashion show etc. for school and college children.

Apart from this, magicians will also perform their art.

Famous singers will entertain the audience during the fair and more than 50 stalls will be set up by various departments.

She said that the district administration would facilitate the people with prizes through lucky coupon draw under which First prize scooter, second prize AC, third prize LED would be given .

Apart from this pressure cookers, mobiles, dinner sets will also be given to the general public by drawing lots through coupons .

During the meeting SDM Dr. Jayinder Singh and senior officials of other departments were present.
