Government College of Yoga Education & Health, Chandigarh in collaboration with MDNIY, New Delhi organize YOGOTSAV-2022

Chandigarh: Government College of Yoga Education & Health, Chandigarh under the guidance of Chandigarh Administration in collaboration with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, New Delhi celebrated “Yogotsav-2022” on 63-day countdown of 100 days, 100 Cities and 100 Organization program in prelude to  8th International Day of Yoga (21st June).

The first session of the Program was a Practical session on Common Yoga Protocol which was celebrated in Rock Garden Phase-3rd, Chandigarh from 6:00 AM onwards. The Morning event was started with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest his Excellency Shri Banwarilal Purohit, Hon’ble Administrator of U.T. Chandigarh and Governor of Punjab with other respected dignitariesNitin Kumar Yadav, IAS Home Secretary, Dr. Vijay Nameorao Zade, IAS Finance Secretary,Yashpal Garg, IAS Health Secretary, Hargunjit Kaur, IAS Special Secretary Tourism, Purva Garg, IAS Education secretary,Vinay Pratap Singh, IAS Deputy Commissioner, and Amit Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh. 

 

The event was an inaugural address by the Chief Guest who contended words of wisdom and motivated the Yoga practitioner to adopt a healthy lifestyle, and time management through their own experience. Chief Guest Shri Banwarilal Purohit released a book entitled “Nutritional Status of Adolescent Girl: An Intervention Study” authored by Dr. Sapna Nanda, Principal, Government College of Yoga Education & Health, Chandigarh, and published by Lambert Academic Publishing House, Germany.  

The session continued with Common Yoga Protocol by Mr. Roshanlal, Coordinator of this event and more than 500 participants which comprised College Students of different Chandigarh colleges, Ayush Yoga Instructor, General Yoga Practitioner, and officials of Chandigarh Administrator. Refreshments and College News-letter were distributed among participants. 

 

The Second session of the day started at 10:00 AM and comprised five technical sessions on the theme of Yoga, Meditation, and Neurosciences. The session was inaugurated  by Dr. I.V. Bassavreddi and followed by sessions by  BK Ankush ji from Brahma Kumari Ishwari Vishwavidyalaya, Prof. Akshay Anand from PGI, Chandigarh, Prof. Sushil Chandra from DRDO, New Delhi, and Mr. Bhavya from Neuphony, Germany

The Third session of Cultural cum laser show was held in the evening at city plaza, sector-17, Chandigarh which was followed by Felicitating the guests and other dignitaries. The Spotlight of the session were the Laser show on 75th Azadi ka amrit Mahotsav, Musical Yoga demonstration, Traditional folk dances of Punjab “Luddi” and “Bhangra” which attracted a huge crowd of the city beautiful.
