Akhand Path Sahib started to celebrate 401st Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Teg Bahadar Ji

For concluding 400th birth anniversary centenary of ninth Guru, grand religious congregation to be held on April 21


 Amritsar: Sri Akhand Path Sahib was today started at Gurdwara Guru Ke Mahal for concluding 400th Parkash Purb (birth anniversary) centenary of Sri Guru Teg Bahadar and to celebrate 401st Parkash Purb of the ninth Guru, for which, the ardas (prayer) was offered by Bhai Prem Singh and the holy hukamnama was recited by granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib Giani Rajdeep Singh.

To conclude the 400th birth anniversary centenary of ninth Guru, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) is organising a grand Gurmat Samagam (religious congregation) at Gurdwara Manji Sahib Diwan Hall on April 21.

At the start of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, Giani Rajdeep Singh said that the Sangat across the country and world celebrated 400th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Teg Bahadar Ji and it is important under the devotion and reverence towards the Guru to make arrangements of congregations for concluding the centenary this year.

On this occasion, SGPC member Bhai Manjit Singh said that in the concluding congregation of this centenary of April 21, will be attended by Jathedars of Takht Sahibs, head granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib Giani Jagtar Singh, SGPC President Advocate S. Harjinder Singh Dhami, prominent raagis, dhadis, kathawachaks (narrators). He said bhog (concluding ceremony) of Sri Akhand Path Sahib will be held in the morning on April 21, after which, the congregation will start at Gurdwara Manji Sahib Diwan Hall. He said before this, a Nagar Kirtan will be decorated and carried out from Sri Akal Takht Sahib to birthplace of ninth Guru, Gurdwara Guru Ke Mahal, and a special Kirtan Darbar will be organised in the even on the same day at Gurdwara Guru Ke Mahal.

Thos present on this occasion included, SGPC executive committee member Harjap Singh, Amarjit Singh, member Surjit Singh, Bhai Ajaib Singh, Bhai Manjit Singh, Baba Satnam Singh of Qila Anandgarh, SGPC additional secretary Partap Singh, assistant secretary Kulwinder Singh, Balwinder Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Tejinder Singh, Sukhbir Singh, manager of Darbar Sahib Sulakhan Singh, Baghel Singh, Satnam Singh, Nishan Singh, Satnam Singh, in-charge Gurcharan Singh and others.
