LUCKNOW: Hearing in Taj Mahal controversy case, the Allahabad High Court today has rejected the petition of Rajneesh Singh, seeking an inquiry into the history of Taj Mahal.

The ongoing hearing regarding the investigation of 22 rooms of the Taj Mahal was held in the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court.

The Mughal-era monument is protected by the Archaeological Survey of India.

The Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as the tomb of his wife Mumtaz. The constriction of the marble monument began in 1632 and took 22 years to finally be completed in 1653.

Recently, BJP worker Dr Rajneesh Singh, a resident of Ayodhya, had filed this petition in the Lucknow Bench of the High Court. Through the writ application regarding the Taj Mahal, the petitioner had appealed to open 22 closed rooms and get them investigated.

Tightening the stand regarding the Taj Mahal dispute, the High Court reprimanded the petitioner fiercely. Justice DK Upadhyay reprimanded the petitioner and said that the PIL system should not be misused. Go and research about who built the Taj Mahal. The High Court said that go to university, do PhD, then come to court.

The High Court said that if someone stops you from research, then come to us. Justice DK Upadhyay asked the petitioner whether history would be read according to you. 'When was the Taj Mahal built, who got it built, go read first.' Justice Upadhyay questioned the question in the courtroom. After the Allahabad High Court's decision, the petitioner has said that he will approach the Supreme Court on the matter.
