NEW DELHI; At least 24 women and five men are still reportedly missing in the massive building fire in New Delhi's Mundka that has claimed the lives of 27 people, the latest report revealed on Saturday.

The report was provided by the civil defence team at the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital where the bodies from Friday's inferno were shifted, while relatives of the missing persons kept arriving to locate their loved ones.

During initial enquiry, the police found that the four-storey building was used for providing office spaces to companies.

Identities of all but one of the 12 injured have been ascertained, an official said. According to a list released by the district magistrate of West Delhi, the injured are Staish (38), Pradeep (36), Ashu (22), Harjeet (23), Nitin (24), Avinash (29), Sandhya (22), Dhanvanti (21), Bimla (43), Ayesha (24) and Mamta (52).

At least 27 people have been confirmed dead after a fire broke out in a commercial building in Mundka on the outskirts of West Delhi. The fear of increasing the number of people killed has also been expressed.

Those injured in this accident are being treated at Sanjay Gandhi and Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital.

The fire started at around 4.30 pm on May 13.

How terrible it was can be gauged from the fact that even after six hours of continuous hard work of firefighters, smoke was rising from the building.
