SHAHKOT The Shahkot police have booked Bajwa Kalan village resident on the charge of holding two passports.
The Station House Officer (SHO) Hardeep Singh Maan said that the accused has been identified as Sadhu Singh’s son of Najar Singh a resident of Bajwa Kalan village.
Sharanjit Kaur wife of Sadhu Singh complained to the Punjab Home Secretary that her marriage was solemnized with Sadhu Singh in 1995 and she gave birth to three children from this wedlock.
She said in her complaint that Sadhu Singh procured a second passport on the name of Sarabjit Singh in 2002 and went to UK and came back in 2014.
Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) forwarded this complaint to Shahkot Deputy Superintended of Police (DSP) for further investigation. .
DSP concluded in his inquiry report that Sharanjit Kaur went to England in 2014 and found Sadhu Singh living with another woman.
DSP said in 2014 Sadhu Singh came to Bajwa Kalan village and started harassing Sharanjit Kaur and tried to throw her out of the house and a case was registered against him at Shahkot police station on the charge of assault and outraging the modesty of a woman.
The inquiry report said that Sadhu Singh is holding two passports and confessed this fact during the investigation.
SSP approved DSP’s report and ordered the registration of a case against Sadhu Singh.
SHO said that a case under sections 420(cheating) 468,469 and 471(fraud) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused.
