NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday morning raided Congress leader and MP Karti Chidambaram, who son of former finance minister P Chidambaram, in multiple cities across the country.
Karti Chidambaram, son of former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, has also tweeted a taunt about the raid.
He wrote, "I forgot to count how many times this happened. This will be a record."
The CBI is conducting searches at multiple locations (Residence and office) of Congress leader Karti Chidambaram, in connection with an ongoing case, Karti’s office said,
According to news agency, the CBI has registered a new case against Lok Sabha MP Karti Chidambaram for taking illegal benefits. According to officials, after the registration of the FIR, the CBI on Tuesday raided their 9 locations in Chennai and at different places in the country.
Karti Chidambaram is being investigated in several cases, including the one relating to Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance to INX Media for receiving foreign funds to the tune of Rs 305 crore when his father P Chidambaram was the finance minister.
