Opposition may pick Yashwant Sinha, who resigns from TMC, as Presidential candidate?

New Delhi:  Hours before the joint Opposition meeting to decide on a common Presidental candidate, Finance Minister and Trinamool Congress vice-president Yashwant Sinha resigned from all party post.

As per the source, He is likely to be fielded by the opposition as the presidential candidate.

According to the news of the English newspaper Telegraph, TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee can propose Yashwant Sinha's name as the presidential candidate today.

According to the information, NCP chief Sharad Pawar to hold a meeting with opposition parties in Delhi today regarding the Presidential candidate, while Abhishek Banerjee will join from the TMC side.

Abhishek had said on Monday, "The meeting to be held tomorrow, I will represent the party. All opposition parties had consent in the name of Sharad Pawar, but they do not want to contest elections.

Yashwant Sinha has also tweeted indicating in this regard.

Announcing his resignation, Sinha twitted, “I am greatfful to Mamata Ji for the honour and prestige she bestowed on me in the TMC. Now a time has come when for a larger national cause I must step aside from the party to work for greater opposition unity. I am sure she approves of the step.”
