Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) will send its jatha (group) of Sikh pilgrims to Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib, Pakistan, to celebrate Parkash Purb (birth anniversary) of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in November 2022.

The SGPC has initiated the visa process in this regard, and the interested pilgrims would be able to deposit their passports by July 30, 2022.

Sharing information in this regard, SGPC assistant secretary media Kulwinder Singh Ramdas said that like every year, a jatha will be sent to Pakistan on the occasion of Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, and the pilgrims can send their passports for the same.

"Those interested pilgrims who want to visit to pay obeisance on this historic occasion at Gurdwara Janam Asthan Sri Nankana Sahib and more Sikh shrines in Pakistan, they should deposit passports at the Yatra Department of SGPC along with recommendation of their area SGPC member", said Kulwinder Singh.

He said that the pilgrims should also deposit a copy of their identity proof i.e. voter card, aadhar card or ration card along with their passport as it is important. He appealed to the Sangat to deposit their passports and documents in time with the SGPC, so that further proceedings can be done to obtain visas.

Kulwinder Singh said that the Sikh pilgrims from the state of Haryana can deposit their passports at the sub-office of SGPC at Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Chhevin in Kurukshetra.
