Barnala District level tournament: Girls wins first great victory

Barnala: The first match of the girls under-19 (one day) district level tournament being organized by Punjab Cricket Association, Mohali at Trident Complex Barnala and Aryabhatta Cricket Ground was played at Trinidad Ground between Barnala and Bathinda girls. In which Barnala's team won over Bathinda by 9 wickets. Barnala won the toss and elected to bowl first and bowled out Bathinda for just 49 runs. Barnala bowlers Amarjot Kaur and Aksita Bhagat took 3-3 wickets. Batting after this, Barnala's team achieved this goal by losing 1 wicket in just 8 overs. Batting first, Ranjit Kaur and Tess Sodhi scored brilliant 17 runs and remained unbeaten.

Muktsar girls also won their match

The second match was played at Aryabhatta Cricket Ground between Mansa and Muktsar. Mansa won the toss and choose to bowl first. Batting first, Muktsar scored 274 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 50 overs. Harpreet Kaur Brar scored 58 not out, Harmandeep Kaur 47, and Arshdeep Kaur 43 runs. Chasing the target, the entire Mansa team was all out for 104 runs. Naina Sharma (19) and Arpan Kaur (17) were the top scorers for Mansa. For Muktsar, Harmandeep Kaur bowled brilliantly and gave away 19 runs in 10 overs to dismiss four Mansa players. Today Barnala will face Muktsar and Bathinda will face Mansa. 

After the victory of both the teams, Mr. Rupinder Gupta, Secretary, District Cricket Association, Barnala congratulated the winning teams and encouraged the players who played well. Motivated the rest of the players to play well.
