IKG PTU Badminton Tournaments inaugurated at DAVIET

JALANDHAR: DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jalandhar got an opportunity to host “IKG PTU Badminton Tournaments (2017)” on October 3-5, 2017 in Lala Chanchal Dass DAVIET auditorium. The scheduled number of teams in the category of men is 18 and in the category of women is 7 and most of the teams registered well in time to participate in this gala event for knock out matches.  The sports persons from different Institutes affiliated to IKG Punjab Technical University participated with full zeal & vigour.


Sh. Avtar Henry, Senior Congress leader inaugurated the tournament. Officials from various participating institutes also graced the occasion by their benign presence. Dr. Jagdish, Observer, PTU remained present there.


Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal of DAVIET heartily welcomed Sh. Avtar Henry, all distinguished persons, sportspersons and officials from various participating institutions. He thanked Sh. Avtar Henry on arriving at Institute for inspiration of the participating teams. He appreciated the efforts of Sh. Avtar Henry for the service of the society.    


Sh. Avtar Henry showered his blessings upon the youth. In his speech, he stated that physical fitness is essential for all and sports plays an important role for physical fitness. He advised all the participants to play with full gusto. He admired the sports and sportsmanship for overall development of the youth. Further, he focused on hard work. He congratulated all the participating teams.

           

Acolossal number of distinguished personalities relished the competition. The spectators observed the cutthroat contest in almost all the matches.
