Three travel agents including woman booked for duping villager of Rs 6 lakhs

Lohian Khas: The Lohian Khas police have booked three travel agents for allegedly duping a villager of Rs.6 lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad.

The accused have been identified as Gautam Birman a resident Jhunj-Jhanu district of Rajasthan, his wife Indu and Dinesh Kumar a resident of Haryana.

Investigating officer (IO) Kulwindar Singh said that Jaskirat Singh a resident of Phul village complained to Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) that he paid Rs 6 Lakhs to the accused of facilitating his migration to Germany but he was not sent abroad nor returned the money. A case under sections 406 (breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
