DGP announces to enhance scholarship from 25 lakh to 40 lakh

JALANDHAR: Director General of Police, Punjab Suresh Arora today announced to enhance the scholarship for the kins of police personals from 25 lakh to 40 lakh from the next financial year.

Today after awarding the 186 bright students with scholarships, DGP said that the department has decided to increase the scholarship as it would further encourage the kind of police personals to perform better in academics and other fields besides spreading the area for beneficiaries.

In another major announcement, DGP has also informed to sign MOUs with well established educational institutions and academies to provide professional training and guidance for preparation for competitive exams like UPSC, PPSC, IIT. The Police Department would pay the 75% fee for preparation of these competitive exams for the children of police personals, he added.   

The scholarship was distributed by the DGP along with Regional Manager of HDFC Bank  Vineet Arora.

Prominent amongst present on the occasion included senior police and HDFC bank officials.
