Four booked for assaulting villager

Nakodar: The Nakodar Sadar police have booked four persons on the charge of assaulting a villager.

Investigating officer Surinder Singh said that the accused have been identified as Kapil Dev and Gaurav Gupta resident of Mohalla Guru Nanak Pura Nakodar and their two unidentified accomplices.

Mandeep Singh a resident of Gandharan village complained to the police that the accused waylaid him on July 7 night and attacked him with weapons and injured him.

IO said that a case under sections 323,324(voluntarily causing hurt with weapons), 341(wrongful restraint) 427(mischief) and 148 and 149(rioting) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
