Punjab Governor greets people on Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji

CHANDIGARH: Extending greetings to the people of Punjab and Chandigarh on the auspicious Gurpurb of the first Guru, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, V.P. Singh Badnore said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s philosophy seeking Sarbat Da Bhalla (welfare of all) and his message is relevant to the whole world, transcending all boundaries.

       

In his message, the Governor said that this year the world is celebrating the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.  Guru Nanak undertook a 28000 km journey on foot to spread the message of true humanity.

       

Guru Nanak was not only the first Guru of the Sikhs but also a 'Guru' to the entire world. He envisioned the welfare of all humanity and considered all castes to be equal. He stressed on the women empowerment and respect to the them.

               

The Governor called upon the people to follow the steps of the Sikh Guru as his teachings continue to inspire us to walk on the path of righteousness in the service of humanity.
