Food Safety Teams Take Two Dozen Food Samples In Two Days

NAWANSHAHR: With a View  to check food adultration under Mission TANDARUST PUNJAB, food safety teams comprising Food Safety officers, Sangeeta Sehdev and Rakhi Vinayak collected 24 samples during checking of various food item shops in the last two days.
               

Divulging  details, Assistant Commissioner (Food) Manoj Khosla said that various Departmental Stores,  Karyana shops situated at Nawanshahr and Saroya were inspected to ensure the quality of food products being sold to the public and took two dozens of samples comprising five samples of Mustard oil, three samples of Salt, two samples of chilli powder and one sample each of Garam masala, Cinnamon,Peanut Patti,  Haldi powder, Namkeen,  Gachhak,  Alsi Oil,  Coconut sweets, Vanaspati, Biscuits, Sauce and Cold Drink. 

The Teams also sensitized them to sell good quality food products to the consumers. All the samples have been sent to State Food Lab for analysis and further action will be initiated against the delinquents based on the results of analysis, added Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety Khosla.
