Woman among two arrested for snatching, extortion

SHAHKOT: The Shahkot police have arrested two persons including a woman and booked another for snatching, extortion and, criminal intimidation.  

Investigating officer(IO) Balwinder Singh said that the accused have been identified as Amanpreet Kaur wife of Sunil Kumar a resident of Dhandhowal village,Joban Preet Singh a resident of Saliachan village and Jony a resident of Said Pur village.

Bunty Dass a resident of Chobh village under Baja Khana police station Farid Kot complained to the police that he was driving his truck(PB-03-AP-0183) on the Saliachan-Parjian road on January 7 night  when the accused signaled him to stop and snatched from him vehicle permit ,mobile and other documents and later demanded Rs 10000 from him and threatened him .

IO said that a case under sections 379-B(snatching ),384(extortion) 506(criminal intimidation) and 34(committing crime with common intention ) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused and raids are being conducted to nab Jony who is absconding.
