Panchayats should rise above party politics for development ;Soni

Administers oath of office to new 880 Sarpanchs, 5460 Panchs and 191 members of block Samiti and 21 members of Zilaparishad

 

 

 NAKODAR: The Punjab education minister Om Parkash Soni on Friday extorted newly elected sarpanchs,panchs,block samitis and Zila Parishad members of Jalandhar district to rise above groupism and party politics for developing villages.

Addressing an impressive gathering before administrating oath to them, Soni said common land in villages is main sources of income of panchayats and in most villages, common land has encroached and panchayats should work to free common land from encroachers and the government will fully support them in this regard. 

 

He congratulated Punjab chief minister Captain Amrindar Singh and Punjab election for conducting free and fair panchayat elections in the state.

 

Soni said that Punjab government have successfully implement its some election promises like controlling drug sale ,waiving of famers loans unto Rs 2 Lakhs and increase of amount for newlyweds from Rs 15000 to Rs 21000. 

  

Education minister said that the government has introduced learning of English language from primary level to prepare students to compete at higher level adding that number of smart schools will reach near 4000 by 31 March .He said that government is giving priority to education, health and environmental department.

He announced a grants of Rs 5 lakhs for Government  Senior secondary school Nakodar and Rs 1 lakh for uniform of school Gidda team which performed on stage.

 

Jalandhar M.P Chaudary Santokh Singh,Shahkot,Jalandhar Cantt and Kartar Pur MLAs Harden Singh Laddi,Pargat Singh and Surindar Singh,Markfed chairman Amarjit Singh Samra also addressed .

 

Newly appointed Jalandhar (rural) Congress president Sukhwinder Singh Lalli.Jagbir Singh Brar and Chaudary Vikram Singh, Jalandhar police commissioner GIS Bhullar, Dig STF Ram Pal, Jalandhar(rural) SSP N.S Mahal. Nakodar , Shahkot and Phillaur SDM’s Amit Kumar, N.K Ball and VS Bajwa were present on the occasion.
