Punjab players continue splendid show; Bag 8 medals including 3 Gold

 CHANDIGARH: The players from Punjab have continued their splendid show at the ‘Khelo India Games’ currently underway at Pune (Maharashtra)with a total haul of 8 medals with the inclusion of 3 Gold medals.

Disclosing the details, the Chef De Mission of Punjab contingent and Director, Sports Mrs. Amrit Kaur Gill said that Jasmine Kaur has bagged Gold Medal in the U-17 age group of shotput event with a throw of 14.19 metres while in Judo Paramvir Singh Maan (81 Kg) and Jagtar Singh (+81 Kg) won Gold Medals in U-17 category . In the 5000 metres event in U-21 category, Suman Rani won Silver. In Javelin Throw event of U-21 category, Arshdeep Singh bagged Bronze with a throw of 67.25 metres while in Shooting (Air Rifle) U-21 event, Arjun Babuta bagged Bronze. In Triple Jump event, Khushbeen Waraich with 12.55 metre distance won Bronze. In 60 Kg category (U-17) Wrestling Freestyle event, Sahil won Bronze.

 
 

The Additional Chief Secretary, Sports, Punjab, Sanjay Kumar who is present at Pune, has congratulated the medal winners and boosted the morale of those players who have their events lined up.
