Contingent of CRPF adjudged best during R’ day celebrations

JALANDHAR: A contingent of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was adjudged the best contingent of the parade during the Republic Day celebrations while patriotic cultural item presented by the HMV College bagged first prize in cultural items during the celebrations.

The Chief guest of the day and Health Minister Punjab Mr Brahm Mohindra handed over the prizes to winners. Mr Sanjay Kumar of the CRPF received the prize on behalf of contingent whereas Mr Kuldeep Singh of ITBP received the second best prize. Likewise, a contingent of PAP Men and Punjab Home Guards bagged consolation prizes. Amongst senior division of National Cadet Corps (NCC), the contingent of NCC Army and Air Force jointly bagged the first prize.

 In the junior division of NCC, the contingent of NCC Boys bagged the first prize. Amongst the Scouts, the contingent of DSSD school bagged the first prize whereas the Girls Guide of Lyallpur Khalsa School bagged the first prize amongst the guides. Likewise, cultural item Rajasthani folk dance presented by the HMV College bagged first prize in cultural items during the celebrations.

The Health Minister also felicitated the parade commander Mr Gurpreet Singh, who led the splendid march past. The Chief guest also congratulated the district administration for a spectacular show of cultural items during the Republic Day celebrations. He also gave away consolation prizes to other participants.

Manmohan Singh, Mr Tejinder Singh, Mr Barjinder Singh, Mr Iqbal Singh and others.
