Travel agents father, sons trio booked for duping man of Rs 3.60 lakhs

NAKODAR: The Nakodar city police have booked travel agents father and his two sons for allegedly duping a man of Rs 3.60 lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad.

 The accused have been identified as Ashwani Kumara resident of Mohalla Rehrwan here and his sons Armaan Kumar and Arun Kumar.

Investigating officer (IO) Kashmir Chand said that Harpreet a resident of Kotala Jangan village complained to Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) that he had paid Rs 3.60 lakh to the accused of facilitating his migration to abroad. However, he was neither sent abroad nor returned the money.

IO said a case under Sections 406 (breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 13 of the Travel Profession Regulation Act has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
