Priase worthy step taken by District Legal Services Authority, Barnala in the favour of Under-Trials lodged in District Jail, Barnala.

BARNALA: District Legal Services Authority, Barnala under able guidance of Virinder Aggarwal, Ld. District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Barnala took an initiative to help the undertrial prisoners lodged in District Jail, Barnala by launching'Undertrial Information Card' containing requisite information about their cases pending in the courts. The said 'Undertrial Information Card' has been launched today by Virinder Aggarwal, Ld. District & Sessions Judge, Dharampal Gupta Deputy Commissioner and Harjit Singh Senior Superintendent of Police in a function organized in premises of District Jail, Barnala. The said function has also been attended by Amrinderpal Singh Ld. CJM and P.S. Kaleka Ld. CJM-cum-Secretary, DLSA, Barnala.

 

Undertrials were also addressed by Virinder Aggarwal and were told about the card and its usefulness. The gathering was also addressed by Deupty Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police, Barnala who praised the efforts of District Legal Services Authority, Barnala launching the said card and told that the same is really useful for undertrials. In this function, learned dignitaries personally handed over the cards to undertrials.

 

After that Virinider Aggarwal, Ld. District & Sessions Judge while addressing the media told that 'Undertrial Information Card'provided to undertrials will be retained by them so that the necessary information will be available with undertrials round the clock. He further told the media that this card will be issued to undertrial prisoners on very first date on their production in the court by the police. While addressing the media, P.S. Kaleka told that this is the brain child of Ld. District & Sessions Judge and the 'Undertrial Information Card' shall contain information regarding name of undertrial, Father's Name, Address, FIR details, date of admission in jail, date of hearing and proceedings etc. which will help them during entire trial.
