Dr Nazar Singh assumes charge of Jalandhar Chief Agriculture officer

JALANDHAR- On the directions of Punjab Government, Dr Nazar Singh on Tuesday took the charge as New Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) of the district. 

 

Prior to this appointment, Dr Singh was Assistant Marketing Officer in Amritsar and got promoted as CAO. 

 

After taking the charge, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Nazar Singh held a meeting with the agriculture development officers and others. He exhorted the officials to make each farmer of the district aware about the various schemes launched by Punjab Government for the peasantry. 

 

He said that the benefits of the schemes must be reached to all the farmers. 

 

He told that the agriculture department along with others like Horticulture, Dairy, Animal Husbandry, Fishery, Irrigation, Forest, Markfed and others would prepare joint strategies for ensuring the prosperity of the farmers in the district. 

 

Dr Singh also asked the officials to keep a close vigil on the wheat crop fields as the weather conditions are suitable for the yellow rust disease and asked the peasants about that they must spray their wheat crop with 200 ml per acre propiconazole after noticing yellow coloured, powdery linear stripes on the wheat crop leaves.
