JALANDHAR- In its drive to check the adulteration under Tandarust Punjab Mission, a team of health department on Tuesday carried out the sampling drive in various areas of Shahkot and Lohian and took 20 samples of milk and other products.
A team led by District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Balwinder Singh, Food Safety Officer Mrs Rashu Mahajan and others inspected different food establishments and milk vendors in Shahkot, Lohian, Rupewal, Malsian.
DHO said that the samples include 15 milk samples, one cheese, three Ghee and one cream and added that the samples have been sent to the state food lab for examination.
He said that the representatives of the food establishments were also sensitized towards food safety guidelines.
Dr Balwinder Singh also told that the adulterators of food items would not be spared at any cost and asserted that the stern action would be taken against the perpetrators of this heinous crime.
