Health department makes students aware about Swine Flu

JALANDHAR- Health department on Tuesday organized an awareness seminar about Swine Flu in Government Senior Secondary School in Kishanpura. 

District Epidemiologist Dr Satish Kumar was key speaker of the seminar and detailed the students about the disease during morning assembly. Dr Kumar made the children aware of the 'dos and dont's' with respect to the H1N1 virus and encouraged the students to practice personal hygiene. 

He told that the coughing, sneezing, body ache, fever, fatigue, diarrhoea, vomiting, and restlessness; a sore throat and runny nose are few symptoms of the disease. 
 
He told them the main precaution is to wash hands frequently after coughing or sneezing, during caring for the ill person, after handling anything which could have been contaminated, cover nose and mouth while coughing and sneezing and maintaining distance from a person having flu.
