Jalandhar (Rural) Police arrested six accused with four Pistol at strong Nakabandi in view of forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

JALANDHAR: Jalandhar (rural) police arrested six accused and recovered four Pistols along with 09 live cartridges while conducting strong Nakabandi in view of forthcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019.        

On the directions issued by Naunihal Singh, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Jalandhar Range, Jalandhar, Navjot Singh Mahal, PPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (Rural) and on the guidelines issued by Rajveer Singh, PPS, SP/Investigation, Amandeep Singh Brar, PPS, DSP/Investigation and Davinder Attri, PPS, DSP/Sub-Division Phillaur, in view of forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2019, a special drive has been launched against anti social elements.  The Jalandhar police received a major success when during strong nakabandi conducted by the Jalandhar (Rural) police, 06 accused were arrested and from their possession 04 Pistols alongwith 09 live cartridges were recovered.   

While addressing the press conference, Navjot Singh Mahal, PPS, SSP/Jalandhar (Rural) intimated that SI Nirmal Singh and SI Surjit Singh alongwith police party laid strong and  high-tech naka at Sutlej Bridge Phillaur and started conducting checking of vehicles.  During the course of checking of vehicles, at 02:45 PM one Creta car bearing registration No. PB-02-CW-6001 was signaled to stop but the driver of the said car didn’t stopped the car.  The police party with the help of Barricades stopped the said car.  The driver of the said car revealed his identity as Bikram Singh @ Bau s/o Ram Pal and the person sitting on the adjoining front seat revealed his identity as Kabul Singh @ Hathorra s/o Amrik Singh, both resident of Sangat Singh Nagar, Mehta Road, PS Maqboolpur, district Amritsar whereas the person sitting on the rear seat revealed his identity as Jasvir Singh s/o Pritam Singh r/o Village Mulle Chak, PS Hakimanwala, district Amritsar.  Their personal search was conducted, which led to recovery of 02 country made pistol 32 Bore alongwith 04 live cartridges.  In this regard case FIR No. 78 dated 13-03-2019 u/s 25 Arms Act was registered in PS Phillaur, district Jalandhar (Rural). 

In a similar drive,  ASI Sohan Singh  of CIA Staff, Jalandhar (Rural) alongwith police party laid high-tech naka  near Sutlej Bridge Phillaur and started conducting checking of vehicles.  During the course of checking of vehicles, at 04:00 PM one Scorpio car bearing registration No. PB-10-EV-6830 coming from Ludhiana side was signaled to stop but the driver of the said car didn’t stopped the car.  The police party with the help of Barricades stopped the said car.  The driver of the said car revealed his identity as Sahil Chandel r/o Hargobind Nagar, Ludhiana and the person sitting on the adjoining front seat revealed his identity as Rohit Pandey s/o Om Parkash Pandey r/o Kakka Bhoda Colony, Ludhiana. The personal search of Sahil Chandel was conducted, which led to recovery of 01 country made pistol 32 Bore alongwith 03 live cartridges.  In this regard case FIR No. 79 dated 13-03-2019 u/s 25 Arms Act was registered in PS Phillaur, district Jalandhar (Rural).

It is worth mentioning here that accused Sahil Chandel in the year 2013 kidnapped one person from Doraha and took a ransom of Rs. 05 Crore from his family. In this regard case FIR No. 72 dated 13-07-2013 u/s 364-A, 307 IPC was registered in PS Doraha, district Ludhiana.  He was arrested from Una (HP) and the kidnapped person as well as ransom of Rs. 05 Crore was recovered from him.  In this regard case FIR No. 92/2013 was registered is PS Una (HP) in which he was sentenced imprisonment of 03 years.  Accused Sahil Chandel was released on bail in the year 2019.  The recovery of 01 Pistol 32 Bore alongwith 03 live cartridges, which has been effected from Rohit Pandey was purchased by him from UP.

In a similar drive, ASI Gursharan Singh of PS Goraya, Jalandhar (Rural) alongwith police party while conducting patrolling in the area of village Beer Bansian, near Dera of Gujjars at about 02:30 PM arrested accused Saurav Pal s/o Kimti Lal r/o Barring, PS Cantt. Jalandhar and recovered 01 Pistol  315 Bore alongwith 02 live cartridges from him.  In this regard case FIR No. 30 dated 13-03-2019 u/s 25 Arms Act was registered in PS Goraya, district Jalandhar (Rural).

Bikram Singh @ Bau s/o Ram Pal resident of Sangat Singh Nagar, Mehta Road, PS Maqboolpur, district Amritsar 

Rohit Pandey s/o Om Parkash Pandey r/o Kakka Bhoda Colony, Ludhiana

Saurav Pal s/o Kimti Lalr/o Barring, PS Cantt. Jalandhar

 

Note : It is worth mentioning here that since 13-07-2018 till date, the [police of Jalandhar (Rural) registered 18 cases of Arms Act and arrested 41 accused, from whose possession 39 Pistols/Revolvers alongwith 150 live cartridges have been recovered, the detail of which is as under:
