 MANSA:  Paying rich tributes to the legendary Martyr Bhagat Singh, district administration Mansa today kick started it's Shanivar Shramdaan Mission by cleaning the city.

Early morning today DC Miss Apneet Riyat administered oath to the officers and employees for voluntarily cleaning the city and also monitoring the places after being cleaned. 

She said that we cannot pay back the immense contribution and sacrifice Bhagat Singh Ji had done for Indians. Making a humble beginning the district administration Mansa has decided to hold sweeping and cleaning of the entire district on next six weeks. She called upon everyone to wield a broom for cleaning the district. She also appealed district residents to keep their surroundings clean, throw garbage at designated places only and stop each other from littering.

Starting the campaign,  Deputy Commissioner Miss Apneet Riyat herself swept the district court area.

Different pockets of city were designated to various departments for cleaning wherein apart from DC Miss Apneet Riyat, the ADC (G) Rajdeep Singh Brar, ADC (D) Gurmeet Singh Sidhu, SDM Mansa Abhijeet Kaplish, SDM Sardulgarh Latif Ahmed, SDM Budhlada Aditya Dhachwal,  DDPO Dinesh Vashisht and civil surgeon Dr Lal Chand also swept clean the areas. Bags,  brooms,  lorries, trolleys etc were provided by municipal council Mansa.

She also cautioned shopkeepers not to use plastic bags and remove  encroachments from in front of their shops. Shopkeepers were also distributed dust bins and advised to use the same. 

The city's vacant plots, drains and streets were cleaned. Refreshments were served to all at Bachat Bhawan
