Faculty Enrichment Programme at Khalsa College

AMRITSAR: The Post-Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Administration, Khalsa College, Amritsar(KCA) organized a Faculty Enrichment Programme, sponsored by UGC on Statistical Techniques using STATA here today. DR. Sunil Kumar, Professor, Faculty of Economics from South Asian University, New Delhi was the resource person for the programme. The primary objective of the programme was to provide practical training to the participants about the application of statistical techniques through STATA.

 

Principal Dr. Mehal Singh while welcoming the guest speakers said that Dr. Sunil Kumar possesses a vast knowledge and experience in usage of application of statistical techniques in different research areas with the use of statistical softwares like STATA, EVIEWS, SPSS, SYSTAT. He highlighted that the practical knowledge about various research techniques for the faculty members is necessary besides having theoretical knowledge about these techniques. Dr. JS Arora, HOD Commerce department introduced the theme to the audience.

 

  

Dr. Kumar meanwhile highlighted the importance of optimal communication in consulting, teaching and collaborative research, with a focus on the analysis of ordered categorical data. He then elaborated on the basics of STATA software in the first technical session while providing hands-on training to the participants on the panel data regression technique using STATA in the second technical session.

 

Around 60 participants from different departments of the college and other institutions participated in the programme and gained knowledge about the practical application of research techniques. Dr. Avtar Singh, proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Arvinder Kaur, Dr. Sawraj Kaur, Dr. Deepak Devgan, Dr. Poonam Sharma, Dr. Rachhpal Singh, Dr. Nidhi Sabharwal, Prof. Meenu Chopra, Prof. Reema Sachdeva, Prof. Aanchal Arora, Prof. Sukhdeep Kaur, Prof. Sakshi Sharma, Prof. Shikha Choudhary, Dr. Megha, Dr. Manisha Behal, Dr. Shivani Nischal, Prof. Pooja Puri, Dr. Samiya, Dr. Komal Narang, Prof. Ravijot Kaur, Prof. Hartejpreet Singh were present.
