Compkriti - 2019: GZSCCET alumni Nupur Goyal Honoured with appreciation award for securing 246th rank in UPSC exam

BATHINDA: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) organized Annual Techno-Cultural Fest ‘COMPKRITI-19’ at the conference Hall of Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering and Technology (GZSCCET), Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda here on Wednesday. The COMPKRITI-2019 fest comprised of various Technical and Cultural events.

The main highlight of the fest was Nupur Goyal, who has brought laurels to GZSCCET, by clearing the civil services exam. She is an alumni student of Computer Science Department (2011 Batch). She was honored with Appreciation Award and a memento by Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Head CSE Department, Prof. Jyoti Rani, Coordinator of the event and faculty.

 

She has secured 246th all India rank in the UPSC exam.  She is amongst a handful of students from Punjab who cracked the premier exam of the country.

While being nostalgic of her times in the College, Nupur Goyal  acknowledged that whatever she was today was because of the GZSCCET teachers and parents,  who inspired her and motivated her for such a hard work.  Her optional paper was sociology, which she says she is passionate. She motivated and interacted with students of computer science and engineering and shared her experiences during her hard struggle to crack UPSC exams.

While sharing her success story with the students, Nupur also shared her ups downs during her journey of success. She said her cousin, Jatin Goyal, from  IIT, Jodhpur (now settled in USA)  had motivated her for the UPSC exam. She did B.Tech  (Computer Science ) from GZSCCET in 2015 batch and then moved to Delhi for coaching. She said that she got 6 gold medals in her academics during B.Tech and it was the most motivational achievement of her life.

Listing her priority, She said, women empowerment and education for girls will be her main focus.

Meanwhile, the students participated enthusiastically with high spirits in the event. Technical events included Technical Quiz, Blind Coding, Group Discussion, Technical Writing, Poster Making, Debate, Technical Rangoli. Cultural events included Solo Dance, Solo Singing, Duet Dance, Duet Singing, Kavyanjali, Bhangra and Band Performance.

Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Head , Department of CSE and faculty honored the winners with prizes and the event concluded with a Vote of thanks by the event organizers.
